The Neck
This is my work log of how work with the neck progressed:
When doing this, do not forget to think about the body too. There are many things to keep in mind, one example is how the distance of the neck effects the location of the bridge. I made both the body and the neck at the same time.
Before you commence with this you will need to choose what dimensions you want for your neck, you should also consider if you want to use a truss rod or not. I decided the dimensions during the work, but I do not recommend it.
6th of Mars:
Today I begun with the fretting procedure.
First of I did not succseed in finding a rubber hammer for this, instead I got the idea to attaching furniture feet on a small hammer. This worked well, but I noticed that I have not made the fret slots deep enough on most of the frets. So I will have to borrow it again...
I used a dremel to cut the wire once in place. (but I have detached all the frets with the exception of one. The result is that two of the slots are a bit damaged, but it will not matter, I will perhaps use some glue on them...). I will not post a pictures from the fretting procedure at this time, you will have to wait until I have increased the deepth of the slots.
7th of Mars:
Today I borrowed the saw once again, and as a result I could continue with the fretting procedure. It went very well, but I have place another order on frewire as I did not have enough for the last two.
I did not work from fret 1 to 24, instead I adapted so that I would get the most out of the fretwire that I had.
