The Body
This is my work log of how work with the body progressed:
When doing this, do not forget to think about the neck too. There are many things to keep in mind, one example is how the distance of the neck effects the location of the bridge. I made both the body and the neck at the same time.
Before you commence with this you will need to choose what dimensions you want for your neck, you should also consider if you want to use a truss rod or not. I decided the dimensions during the work, but I do not recommend it.
24th of November:
Today I sanded the body a bit, but I am far from finished with it. I drilled the holes for the potentiometers, so that they goes straight through. I also succeeded in removing the broken screw. I plugged the hole with a bit of oak, after that I began by attaching the other side of the bridge in its right place, (I drilled a hole for the screw). When that was done I simply attached the other screw, and the bridge is now in place.
25th of November:
Today I started by making the pickguard a bit rounder (I used a CD for this), then I began to route the space for the electronics.
I still have to route an edge for the cabinet. (I used the router in freehand mode while making this.)
